ANCOP Thailand Walk for a Cause 2021ANCOP Thailand (ANCOP-TH) organized a virtual (due to Covid physical restriction) walk to Witness God’s Wonders during the month of December 2021 with a registration fee of Baht 250 per person. There were 27 groups/individuals who registered and participated in the walk with their photos and videos being posted on Facebook with #AncopThailand2021 and #WitnessGodsWonders2021. Despite the pandemic, the fundraising event received a total of Baht 30,100 from generous participants. This amount will be used to support CFC's Child Sponsorship Program (CSP) intended for qualified students from the members of our community CFC-Thailand.
ANCOP-TH started this CSP in July 2021 with six (6) qualified students from the members of CFC North Bangkok (including Korat) and Nonthaburi Chapters with each student receiving Baht 10,000. Aside from CSP, ANCOP-TH was also able to provide financial assistance to flood victims in Luzon (Philippines) in 2020 as part of its Humanitarian Relief Program. All these programs were made possible because of the generous support received during the previous ANCOP activities namely virtual “Walk for Love 2020” and physical “Global Walk 2019”, plus the special pledge of monthly contributions from a few of our extra-generous members. May God bless you abundantly. As St. Paul says in Act.20:35 ““In all this I have given you an example that by such work we must support the weak, remembering the words of the Lord Jesus, for he himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’” First ANCOP walk at AIT (2019)The first ANCOP-Thailand Global Walk 2019 was held at the AIT campus ground on 5 December 2019 starting at 6:30 AM. ANCOP (Answering the Cry of the Poor) walk is a fund raising activity of CFC to support education of poor students and was launched in CFC Thailand in 2019 during the visit of Ricky Cuenca to Bangkok. All Bangkok chapters were well represented by 87 individuals joining the fun walk of about 3 kms. It started with a morning prayer, body stretching, and dancing through the AGW 2019 official theme song "Light Up Lives". It ended with a fellowship breakfast and closing prayer, thanking God for its success and looking forward for a more enjoyable ANCOP activities in 2020.

CFC/SFC Korat Outreach Activity
13 August 2018 - About 20 members of CFC/SFC Korat accompanied by their Chaplain, Fr. Popoy (Fr. Ferdinand Aporillo, MSP), organized an outreach program for the elderly at the Home for the Aged Ratchasima on August 13, 2018. The group brought some snacks, fruits, gifts, boxes of juice and food for lunch and prepared a lively program to entertain the elderly and some staff in the facility.
The program started at 8:00 am with the facility staff assisted by the group taking the elderly in their wheel chairs to the hall venue. Before the program proper, the CFC/SFC group was introduced to the audience by the head of the facility. After the introduction, Fr. Popoy read out the Gospel and gave everyone a blessing. An SFC leader, Dann Marie Del Mundo, also gave a brief exhortation. The activity was very heart-warming to all and some CFC/SFC members became emotional as they interacted and chatted with the elderly housed in the facility. The elderly people also became very emotional and sincerely thanked the group for visiting and entertaining them. Some of them kept smiling while listening to the songs while others tried moving their hands and attempted joining the group in dancing and singing. During lunch, the CFC/SFC group helped feed the elderly with the food that they brought. After lunch, the group also helped in taking the elderly back to their respective rooms. It was indeed a special day. The program ended with another send-off blessing from Fr. Popoy. https://www.facebook.com/bheamskie/videos/2274193649263928/UzpfSTEwMDAwMDk4MDgzMzI4MjoyMjA2NTcwODQyNzE4OTIy/ Sisters of the Good ShepherdThis report was prepared by Steve and Agnes Ward: In May 2014, Shrewsbury International School was approached for help by Sister Louise of the Sisters of the Good Shepherd. The sisters run a number of schools for children of different ages and different needs. With the ongoing refugee crisis from the civil war in Syria, and with the large number of refugees fleeing Pakistan, the United Nations had approached the sisters for help in providing school places for refugee children in Bangkok. Shrewsbury, through its Charity Committee and its Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme has a long history of supporting the sisters, and so money was raised to renovate classrooms at the school in Ding Daeng and to provide teaching materials. I was part of the team of teachers who volunteered to repaint classrooms. Following this, Agnes and I approached Sister Louise to offer monthly activities for the refugee children. After some consultation with her colleagues, Sister asked us to work with the Thai girls living at the boarding school in Ding Daeng. Apparently the refugee children are housed elsewhere, and only attend the school during weekdays. It was at this point that we then approached our household to ask if anyone would like to join us in our monthly service. Rey and Rovelyn Compo, and Patrick (and later Anne, after giving birth to Yana) Lozare kindly offered to commit themselves. We then approached Upper Household and the Council as we would be representing CFC. Our initial focus was to teach English and to provide sporting activities. We also provided the girls with a healthy snack - fruit, sandwiches, biscuits and a drink. The format from the outset has been to start with a prayer, split the girls into two groups, with one group doing sports drill and playing games outside with the brothers, whilst the other group would move to a classroom to have a short story read by me, then Agnes would lead the teaching. After 45 minutes the groups would swap, and 45 minutes later we handed out the snacks, have a closing prayer and then depart. In order to cater for the correct number of girls, we always contacted the school a week beforehand. Numbers vary from 30-50 girls, ranging from around 6 years to 17 years of age. The sister in charge is normally Sister Jintana, but she is currently studying in the Philippines, and so Sister Yanee is now in charge. After some experimenting we have settled on visiting the girls every third Sunday of the month, although there has to be some flexibility due to school exams and public holidays. We arrive at the school at 8.00-8.15am, start the activities at 8.30 and leave at 10.15. Whilst the format has remained the same over the three years, the classroom activities have been largely art and craft related, and more recently we have done food preparation activities. The aim has been to teach skills that the girls could use after leaving the school. We have, of course, carried out special activities for Christmas. We have found this to be a truly rewarding experience, and we have been blessed and touched by the warmth and appreciation of the girls, and by the support and commitment of the Lozares and Compos. We are grateful to God for providing us with the means to be able to conduct this service - we have not needed, at any stage, to approach the CFC Community or its members to ask for financial support or donations. If the Community wishes to continue this service, we believe that there needs to be a regular commitment in terms of allocating a regular monthly slot, proper preparation and financial outlay. We had a monthly budget of THB3,000. I do not suggest that households take turns to run the service - we believe that consistent and proper preparation is crucial for the good of the girls, and for the good name of CFC. It has been our experience (and our concern), that members like the sound of joining activities such as this, but are rarely able to commit. We wish to avoid any reactions that are just a ‘flash in the pan’ or ‘lingas kugon’! Thank you. SFC medical mission and annual gift-giving
17 November 2018. Christmas came a little early for more than 100 kids in Ratchaburi. About 35 members from SFC Central Bangkok and North Bangkok accompanied by Fr.Prasit Rujirat, Director of Social Action Center Diocese of Ratchaburi, organized a medical mission and gift-giving at Ratchaburi. The group brought over 100 packs of goodies (disney t-shirts, marvel t-shirts, stuff toys, milk, chocolate, juice, cookies, wafer, gelatin, etc.) and fun games for the kids.
Dr Chat Poonswasad, member of the CFC Thai household in Bangkok, came with the group and provided free medical services and medicines to the villages visited. There are over 20 villages occupied by Karen refugees who have benefited from this regular mission over many years. Father Prasit, a Thai priest from Ratchaburi, has facilitated these missions and provided assistants to the team for translation and logistical support in travelling to the remote villages. The group traveled for 10 hours from Bangkok to the border and spent two hours with the kids for fun games, gift giving, and medical services. Fr. Prasit said that he is always looking forward of having SFC in Ratchburi because of the joy the group is bringing to the community. He also added that the joy the group is bringing can heal the kids. He requested the CFC-SFC community to continuously pray for the kids and their family in Ratchaburi. This SFC activity of medical mission and gift-giving is being done quarterly at Ratchaburi. Fun Run CFC Kids for Christ Global Day of Service, Saturday, 7 October 2017 at AIT groundsThe CFC Kids for Christ Global Day of Service or GDS is an annual event of the CFC Kids for Christ ministry under its world changers program. It is in this event where all KFC members, their families and friends with the whole CFC community and non-community partners will do acts of love and service to others especially to the poor and needy. This year 2017, the GDS celebrates its 8th year with the theme “WE DO EVERYTHING IN LOVE.” The KFC ministry aims that this year’s participants will do acts of love and service as inspired by the 7 Corporal Acts of Mercy.
This time a FUN RUN for a cause was conducted on 7 October 2017 at the AIT grounds with its theme “RUN FOR LOVE” which aimed to raise funds to help support the St. Joaquim Centre for Immigrants in Samut Sakorn. Through the kids, their families and friends with the support of the whole community, the FUN RUN for cause was a success. We hope that many will be inspired to contribute as well as in making our world a better place by sharing love and goodness of God to others. Outreach event for children at St. Joachim Pastoral Centre for MigrantsCFC Thailand - Minburi Household went to St. Joachim Pastoral Center on 13 August 2016 to reach out on the children learning at St. Joachim Pastoral Center for Migrants. The household was inspired by the Global Day Outreach Mission of Kids for Christ last year 2015, when the CFC community went to reach out these kids. Most of these children are sons and daughters of Burmese parents.
The Minburi Household contacted Sister Rosa, Coordinator/ Person-in-Charge at the Center and asked her about the needs at the center. The children needed toothbrush, toothpaste, soaps, and bath towels. More importantly, she informed that the center needed a sound system to be used for daily programs, gatherings and special events at the center. They have speakers in the center; however, it was old and malfunctioning. The household members used their Love Offerings fund to sustain the expenses for the vans, foods for the service team and children at the center, toys, clothing for the children and other items. In order to meet the needs of the center, we asked for the help of the CFC Council to subsidize the sound system through the help of South and East Bangkok Chapter leader Bro. Bal Palmos. The council approved the request and a brand new sound system was purchased.
