About Couples for Christ
Couples for Christ is a Catholic-based community intended for the renewal and strengthening of Christian family life. It brings families together to pray and grow in their marriage vocation, enhance their family relationships and raise their children in accordance with Christian faith, values and teaching. CFC realizes that this purpose can be achieved only when husband and wive are opened to divine graces through repentance and faith in God. Therefore, all members of CFC are invited to renew their faith through the Christian Life Programme (CLP) which serves an entry point to becoming a CFC member. CFC organizes CLPs on a regular basis in collaboration with parish priests and other religious individuals. CLP is opened to all Catholic as well as to non-Catholic Christians, and is free of charge. CFC draws its membership from all sectors of society, young and old, rich and poor. CFC transcends all cultural, economic, educational, social and other distinctions. CFC members gather once a week in small household groups to pray together and organize various seminars, retreats and workshops:
Historically, CFC was formed in 1981 in Manila, the Philippines by 16 couples who gathered weekly to pray together. In 1996, the Catholic Bishop's Conference of the Philippines officially recognized CFC as a national private association of lay faithful. In 2000, it received approval by the Holy See (Vatican). CFC has now reached over 100 countries and about 1 million active members. CFC was established in Thailand in 1989 and is now present in Bangkok, Chiangmai, Phuket, Tharae, Ubon-Rachatani, Surat Thani, Nakhon Ratchasima and Krabi. Total membership is over 1,500 individuals. The CFC Thailand office is located at the Holy Redeemer Church, Soi Ruam Rudee Bangkok. Additional information: |
